FREE Pregnancy Tests

collegegirl

Before you decide what to do about an unplanned pregnancy, make sure that you are pregnant. Even if you have taken an at home pregnancy test, our laboratory quality pregnancy tests can detect the HCG hormone about the time of your first missed period. This test will require a urine sample. We understand your need to know & we can help you find answers.

FREE Limited Ultrasound

After a positive pregnancy test in our office, we can schedule you for an ultrasound that will confirm that the pregnancy is viable through the heartbeat and location in the uterus. Our trained nurse will also be able to tell about how far along you are.

An ultrasound before an abortion is a good way to be sure that you have all the information you need to make the right decision. The options available to you depend on how far along you are. And since 1 in 4 pregnancies end in a natural miscarriage, confirmation of viability is important.

Options Counseling

CPC staff will help you by giving you lots of information to consider before you make important decisions about your future. It’s your choice…choices are good!

If you feel like abortion is your only choice then please call—no one should feel so alone and so unsupported that they feel hopeless in any situation. You owe it to yourself to be sure you have considered all your options and find the best choice for you. Our services cost you nothing so you can be sure that we do what we do because we care—not because of what we can get in return.

Prenatal and Parenting Education with Material Assistance

Individualized counseling is available for expecting women and/or couples. They can meet weekly/biweekly with a trained lay counselor to learn about prenatal care and childbirth through our Earn-While-You-Learn program called “Bridges”. Completed sessions are exchanged to earn cribs, car seats, diapers, baby clothes, and more.

Free STI Testing

STI-testing

Does something feel not quite right? Do you know everyone that your partner has been with in the past? Our registered nurse is available to administer a simple urine test and treatment for the most two common STIs—Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.

Half of sexually active persons will contract an STD/STI by age 25. Most people do not have any symptoms even when they are infected or the symptoms are dismissed as another problem. Left untreated, STIs can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory Disease and infertility. The only way to know if you have an STI is to get tested!

Also your STI test results expire every time you have risky sex (aka sex outside of a committed, monogamous relationship, marriage). Most treatments do not protect you from getting the same infection again. A course of medication may cure gonorrhea and chlamydia, but a new exposure can start a new infection. If your partner is not treated, you can continue to pass infections back & forth. And if you’re not taking the right precautions to protect yourself, you can be re-infected quickly or even pick up a second STI.

Crossroads offers free, confidential medical services pertaining to sexually transmitted infections (STIs). However, referrals for further evaluation and treatment may be necessary. Our first 30 STI clients will receive a $10 Sheetz gift card.

For Men

Generally, people consider pregnancy a “woman’s issue”. At Crossroads, we recognize that men need assistance to help their partner make important life choices. Crossroads has programs to help support men in unexpected pregnancies and programs to educate men in preparation for fatherhood.
