Pregnancy Tests
Think You May Be Pregnant?
Not sure if you really are pregnant? With emotions high, it can be difficult to act quickly or think straight at times. Learn the facts about your pregnancy so you can move forward with clarity.
If you missed a period, you could be pregnant. The only way to know for sure is to begin with a pregnancy test. You don’t have to take this step alone – our caring team at Crossroads is here for you.
In addition to a missed period, other common pregnancy symptoms include:
- Tender, swollen breasts
- Fatigue
- Nausea with or without vomiting
- Frequent urination
When to Take a Pregnancy Test
When it comes to beginning pregnancy confirmation, timing is key. Pregnancy tests detect a hormone called hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) in your urine. When there is enough hCG present, a pregnancy test is able to detect the hormone and produce a positive result.
If you take a pregnancy test to early, there may not be enough hCG present to give a positive. Try to wait at least one day after the first day of your missed period.
