There’s No One Like You
The estimated population of the earth is 7.8 billion people. But there is only 1 you in the entire world. Think about that. No one else looks, acts, or thinks exactly like you. No one has had the same experiences that you’ve had. Some may have experienced similar events in their lives and they might be able to understand what you’ve been through more than others but your experiences are still uniquely yours.
There is a verse in the Bible where a guy named David is talking to God and he says, “I am fearfully and wonderfully made…And You saw me before I was born and scheduled each day of my life before I began to breathe.” Whether you believe in God or not, you were formed in your mother’s womb and the creation of a new life is a miracle in itself! At only 21 days in the womb, your heart began beating and blood was flowing in your veins. You were born into this world with and for a purpose. Your life does have meaning.
People may try to use you as they see fit. You are more than a body and when your body has been used and abused for so long, you may feel like you died—completely numb to the want of anything better. However, you are more than just a body. There is hope.
Some may try to make you jump through hoops just to be a part of their crew. They are not your ‘tribe’ because they don’t know your worth.
When you listen to only the negative things that others say about you or believe the things about yourself that aren’t true, you will forget how special you are.
You will get past that breakup, betrayal, heartache, embarrassing moment, unexpected event, etc. You will get through whatever you’re going through. There may be battle wounds, scars, and memories but the beauty with time is that it all begins to fade with help, support, and encouragement.
The staff and volunteers at Crossroads know how unique and valuable you are. We love what we do because we love getting to support and encourage each of our clients. We don’t care about things like the color of your skin, how old, or young you are. We serve people of any religious belief and those who have none at all. All are welcome and all of our services are free. So if there is something we can do to help and support you, give us a call.
